Because videotape is magnetic, they slowly degrade a little each day. It’s also becoming more and more difficult to find good working VCRs and most new TVs do not have legacy video connections to hook them up, even if you find one.
Once your tapes are converted to MP4, you’ll be able to view them on any smart tv by simply plugging in a USB thumb drive. Unlike DVDs, we can transfer several tapes to one USB drive.
Of course we still transfer videotapes to DVD too. Our DVDs play on any DVD or Blu-ray player and most computer DVD players (you do need DVD playback software on a computer)

If you choose DVD you’ll get cleanly printed discs in full size labeled DVD cases (we copy as much of your hand written descriptions to the disc and case as we can). We also label the case spine so you can identify it easily.

While the DVD itself cannot be modified or edited, it can be ripped, edited and re-encoded to another DVD or MP4 file. There is a $65 per hour editing charge and customers must be present during the edit session.
While any USB drive works for storage, you must use a high speed USB for playback without glitches or pauses.
Copyright restrictions prohibit transfers. Copyguard encription prohibits the transfer to other formats.
